More than 250 representatives from the wind industry in USA attended American Wind Energy Association’s Project Performance and Reliability workshop in San Diego, California, USA.
Avanti Wind Systems General Manager in USA, Kent Pedersen, had the opportunity to speak at this event.
Towers are increasing in height, safety considerations are critical and productivity is a must. 100 meter towers are now being produced, 120 meter towers are in the design phase. This requires utilization of Work Cages/Service Lifts or as a minimum a Climb Assistance to help the technicians getting up and down in the towers.
The primary focus during the two day session was building operational excellence by improving project performance and reliability, enhancing cost competitiveness, sharing O&M best practices, and exploring various lifecycle considerations for equipment as well as safety considerations for wind farms.
The presentation by Avanti was focused on how to provide a safe and efficient work environment at wind farms through the integration of Work Cages/Service Lifts as well as Climb Assistance in the turbine towers.
