Avanti-ladders in new power pylons

Avanti ladder systems are installed not only in wind turbines. Over the next few years up to 500 new electricity pylons will be build in South Jutland in Denmark. The pylons, which are between 22 and 40 meters high, will be equipped with ladders from Avanti Wind Systems.
The pylons will form a new 400 kilovolt connection between Aabenraa in the South and Tjele in the Center of Jutland, a total of 175 km. State owned Energinet.dk owns the electric construction.
The company DS SM in Rødekro will produce the new pylons. DS SM is owned by the DS Group and has many years of expertise in production, installation and maintenance of steel structures for the energy sector, process industry and construction sector.
The galvanized pylons are redesigned and will replace the existing lattice towers. The new electricity connection will be made in three nearly equally large phases. DS SM has received firm order for 320 power pylons to be erected on the first two thirds of the project. Energinet.dk has an option at DS SM on the pylons to the last third. The first and Southern phase will be ready in late 2012, the second phase in autumn 2013 and the last at the end of 2014.
Energinet.dk has a budget for the new electricity connection of a total of 2.9 billion Dkr.
