Latin Americas leading renewable energy company, IMPSA, are carrying out the construction and installation of its new 2.0 MW wind turbine prototype IWP 100 in Brazil. The turbine has no traditional gearbox and has a rotor diameter of 100 meters.
IMPSA has chosen a Service Lift from Avanti Wind Systems for the prototype.
IMPSA is one of the largest technological companies in Latin America. Its headquarters is in Argentina but with large activity in the wind business especially in other countries in Latin America, including in Brazil and Uruguay. Worldwide IMPSA has factories and sales offices in 27 countries. IMPSA developed its first wind turbine in 2003.
