100 technicians on Avanti safety courses in North America

Avanti Wind Systems has successfully implemented its new technician safety courses in North American. As described in an interview with North American Wind Power magazine in late 2008, the New Berlin, Wisconsin division of the company has gone to great lengths to update and deliver an industry-leading 8-Hour Fall Arrest, Rescue, and Evacuation course for the US and Canadian marketplace.

Since January 2009, around 100 technicians have completed the 8-hour version of the course on sites in Pennsylvania, Missouri, Iowa, and Texas. Avanti continues to receive outstanding feedback from participants - The course is unlike anything offered, and the way it challenges participants to be Calm, Creative, and Confident (Avanti's 3C approach) is second to none. To accommodate the positive reaction of its participants, Avanti expanded course offerings to completely fulfill the type of training new or experienced wind technicians must have to be safe and resourceful employees.

R-Akers-2

Avanti Wind Systems now offers official American Red Cross CPR, First Aid, and AED courses, in addition to certified OSHA instruction for 10 or 30 hour Construction courses. To ensure the best experience for every participant in these CPR and OSHA classes, Avanti expanded the scope and breadth of topics to include wind industry-specific information that most other providers do not, or cannot offer.
For those individuals who would be called upon as "rescue leaders" in the event of a catastrophic injury or emergency on site, Avanti is offering a 16-hour Fall Arrest, Rescue, and Evacuation course which builds on the 3C model established with the 8-hour version, but includes a full extra day of exercises designed to empower and challenge each participant. This course confronts the participant with a battery of "worst case scenarios" and forces them to put their First Aid, Rescue, and Evacuation skills to the test.

Avanti Wind Systems also united OSHA, CPR/First Aid/AED, and Fall Arrest/Rescue/Evacuation courses into a single 5-day curriculum that arms new and experienced technicians with all of the regulatory and hands-on training needed to work safely on their 6th day of employment.
In addition to this industry-related Safety Training, Avanti offers a host of Wind Turbine Safety Products, incuding Ladder Systems, "rigid rail" Fall Arrest Systems, Work Cages, and Climb Assist Systems. Avanti also is working on developing personal safety products intended specifically for wind technicians. All Avanti safety products have related Certification, Inspection, and Training Services.
