Avanti lifts in two new Iberdrola wind farms in Spain

The major Spanish energy company, Iberdrola, has just started operating two new wind farms in the north of Spain - Radona I in Adradas and Radona II in Alcubilla de las Peñas.

Iberdrola is one of the world's leading energy companies and produces over 27 percent of the total wind energy produced in Spain, among other things. Iberdrola's headquarters are located in Bilbao in Spain.
The two new wind farms have 12 and 16 wind turbines respectively, each with 2 MW capacity. Iberdrola's total investment has been € 69.4 million, and it has taken 19 months to build all 28 turbines in the two new wind farms.
The electricity produced by the turbines in the two new wind farms will be fed into Spain's national electricity network via the Medinaceli sub-station. The volume of power produced will be the equivalent of 26,000 households' consumption.

The 28 new turbines have all had Avanti Wind System service lifts installed. The service lifts, developed by Avanti themselves, are constructed in aluminium and will transport the service technicians and their equipment up and down the wind turbine towers safely and easily. The lift runs independently of the tower's ladder system.

Avanti Wind Systems have installed service lifts in more than 12,000 wind turbine towers worldwide.
