Avanti Fall Protection - Prevents Falls

It is a request from the authorities that wind turbines are provided with fall safety system, which ensures that the service technician does not fall down when he climbs the vertical ladder.

If he feels indisposed, or if he does not get a proper foothold, the Avanti Fall Protection prevents him from falling down. He will instead remain hanging in the fall safety rail that is fitted in the middle of the fixed ladder of the tower, so that assistance can be sent for in order to get him down.

Avanti has developed a click-on runner that is carried by the service technician in a strap, and which can be clicked on and off the rail no matter where you are on the ladder. The click-on runner is fastened to the strap with a snap hook of the same type as the ones used by mountain climbers.Fall protection is obligatory on ladders higher than 6 metres.

The Avanti Fall Protection System allows multiple users. Throughout the length of the ladder one person may be connected to the Fall Protection Rail for every 6 meters, whereas a system based on a wire rope only allows one user at a time.

Avanti Fall Protection is CE-marked (Europe) and has been tested according to the OSHA-regulations (USA). Must be inspected once a year.

The Avanti Ladder is an aluminium ladder, which complies with the European standards (EN 131 and EN-ISO 14122 "Final Draft"). The ladder is placed 70-80 cm from the tower wall, and you are climbing the ladder with your back against the tower wall (positive climbing).

The Avanti Anchor is our latest safety point that we have recently developed. It is an anchor point used for protection against falls from heights, intended for use with the energy absorber connected to the Fall Arrest-attachment on the full body harness. The Avanti Anchor is tested and approved according to European Standard 795 “Anchor devices”.
